I really like travelling. That is something I have known for a long time
now. I remember enjoying the prevous hours of the trip in my childhood
holidays, planning and thinking all the things to do in wherever place we were
going. The excitement I felt about trips haven’t changed in all this years.
It’s not easy, however, to choose a specific country I would like to
visit. First of all, because as you may have noticed, it could be said that I like
the trip, the way, the road, rather than the place itself. And second,
because there are so many places I want to know.
But, if you force me to choose somewhere, I would have to say: India,
even when I really hope to visit Middle East and México someday (very close in
my personal ranking). But India is more interesting to me, because of all the
diversity it has. The extension of the country is quite big, and it has different
weathers, areas, peoples, and what I like the most: a lot of cultural expressions,
rituals, sacred constructions. So, I would like to visit a lot of this places, and see the people’s religion, parties,
traditions, etc. I am realizing that here it’s clear why I decided to study
anthropology. Sorry, I can’t avoid it.
Perhaps, I would like to work in there, because I am very curious about
the Indians life, but also think that I would feel a little home-sick, to be
honest. I have to say that although I like to travel, I don’t see myself
spending more than one or two years away from home.
